FARAH RIGHT ON THE MARK AGAIN
Joseph Farah of Worldnetdaily has written yet another masterpiece on the Arabs and Israel:
Why Arabs Love Israel
Over the last quarter century, the Hispanic population of the United States has exploded.
Immigration laws have been ignored. The huge border separating the U.S. and Mexico is virtually unpatrolled. And the illegal population of recent immigrants has been offered a series of amnesties forgiving past trespasses.
Some within that community - and it is certainly a small minority of the population - are resentful about life in America. Some are even promoting the idea of creating a separate Spanish-speaking state of Aztlan in the southwestern United States.
All this raises an obvious question: If life in America is so bad for Spanish-speaking immigrants, why do they continue to flock to the United States?
Why do I ask this question today? Not because I am writing about immigration in America, but because I want to make a ...

A WEAPON IN THE HASBARA ARSENAL
I have begun reading the blog of one Asparagirl , mainly because I was fascinated by the idea that an anonymous person with a good head on their shoulders can reach minor celebrity through their blogs. She had an article written about her in the LA times and generally seems to articulate herself well. She is now getting thousands of hits a day...something I would like to get even in a year!
What impresses me most, though, is that she defends Israel and Zionism to a large audience on the web. She has taken on some very hostile characters indeed. And dare I say it, chewed them up, spat them out and then kicked them in the ribs (all figuratively speaking of course). She is part of the hasbara arsenal, and for that I applaud her.

ISRAEL BAD
You would have thought that after 9/11 and all of the other terrorist attacks occurring in recent times that the world would actually understand Israel's position more clearly. Wishful thinking! Check out some of these letters from an Australian newspaper today (the Age):
No, I don't feel any safer
I wish I could say at this stage of the "game", even with the defeat of Saddam zooming towards us, that I felt safer than a few weeks ago. On the contrary, I feel less safe, and I believe the world is a less safe place now.
Perhaps naively, I wonder what a difference it would have made if our brave "coalition of the willing" had been willing to put even some of the billions this war has and will cost into hospitals, schools and infrastructure in Palestine. This, it seems to me, would have undermined terrorism at what is sometimes claimed to be its root.
Instead, we have chosen to fight fire with fire, we have chosen to confront head o...

SADDAM...WANTED DEAD OR DEADER
There is speculation in the media that Saddam Insein may have been killed by the latest US targeted strike. Let's only hope.....
It reminds me of a joke I heard today: One of Saddam Hussein's lookalikes is called into headquarters where one of Saddam's confidants tells them he is needed to impersonate Saddam. "I have good news and bad news" says the confidant. "The good news is that his Excellency, Saddam, is still alive. The bad news is that he lost an arm."

IT'S A GIRL!
The Birth
Well, this is my first blog in three weeks...life has taken on a very hectic turn. So let's update you on what has been happening these past few weeks.
For a start, we had a baby girl whom we have named Maya. We went to the hospital on Mar 18th and she was born on March 20th, about an hour before the Iraq war began. What happened in between were agonizingly long waits for a delivery room to become available and for the potocin (is that the correct spelling??) to kick in. We had all but given up home of a speedy birth at 10:15pm March 19th. Erika had been on the potocin since the early afternoon and she was hardly having any contractions. So we decided she would be unhooked from all the doo-hickies and thing-a-me-jigs so she could get a decent night's sleep and start again the next day. But after going to the bathroom for a call of nature, her waters broke and yada yada yada..we had all of 8.5 pounds of a beautiful baby girl.

BIRTHDAY BUT NO BIRTH-DAY
Yesterday was my birthday but, alas, not also the birthday of my second child, who is still reluctant to come out. If Erika is still pregnant by Tuesday, the doctors will induce since they don't like things to drag past two weeks.
Exciting news flash: Erika and I have seen an apartment that we are set on buying. So as long as the banks will play ball with us, we may have a home of our own.

COME OUT, COME OUT, WHEREVER YOU ARE
The little one is still hiding out in the five-star accomodation known as Erika's stomach. It (I use this word, but Erika and I are aware of the sex) already weighs 3.8 kilos, which means it ain't a lightweight!
I was given a company car yesterday which is great, since I travel 140km a day to and from work. Petrol here isn't cheap, and it is going to get even more expensive when Saddam Insein gets bombed.
How good was the cricket yesterday? Australia are playing like an unbeatable team at the moment. That was one of the greatest comebacks since George Constanza said "The jerkstore called and said they have run out of you!"
